Dan Crenshaw: “Do You Get It Now?”

Dan Crenshaw:

(TheIndependentStar.com) – Woke politics is the name many people use to refer to movements by the Left trying to change social norms. One example is the policy of allowing transgender individuals to use the bathroom correlating with their gender identity and not their biological sex.

An argument against such rules is a fear of putting girls at risk of sexual assault. A recent incident in Virginia is bringing the issue to light again and has Representative Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) speaking out.

The Incident in Question

On May 28, a female student said another student, who was a male wearing a skirt, sexually assaulted her in the girls’ restroom at Stone Bridge High School. The ninth-grader’s father, Scott Smith, confronted the members of the school board about their transgender bathroom policies at a meeting in June.

Not surprisingly, the topic brought out a lot of emotion in the father, who was trying to stand up for his daughter following her ordeal. He had the support of other parents at the meeting, none of whom even knew about the assault against his daughter.

Smith was trying to explain what had happened to his child when a woman accused his daughter of lying. He was about to respond when police interfered and Smith ended up under arrest.

After his arrest, the real story came out, and many people are outraged by the details.

The Representative Speaks Out

Representative Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) responded to the story, which broke on October 11, in support of parents who oppose transgender bathroom policies in schools. He pointed to this incident as the exact type of issue people feared as identity politics swept the nation over the last few years. Crenshaw urged parents to continue fighting and not give up.

Crenshaw is no stranger to the battle against Left’s woke policies. Earlier in the year, he was vocal about his disdain for new recruitment ads from the US Army that were trying extremely hard to be politically correct. He’s also spoken out about countering these political agendas by refusing to put people into categories and assign them labels.

The Aftermath

The school board approved its transgender bathroom policy in August and banned Smith from attending further meetings.

Due to the sealing of juvenile records, it is unclear what happened to the suspected abuser. Even so, there are reports that the student moved to a new school and is now facing charges for sexual assault of a female student there.
