(TheIndependentStar.com) – Claiming America no longer deserves the symbol of freedom, a French politician has demanded the return of Lady Liberty to France.
Far-left European official Raphaël Glucksmann claims President Donald Trump’s America has abandoned its ideals, all while France itself struggles with rising Islamic extremism and declining freedoms.
His outrageous demand reveals the true anti-American sentiment driving European elites.
Glucksmann, a member of the European Parliament and co-founder of the left-wing movement Place Publique, made his inflammatory demand at a recent political rally in Paris.
“We’re going to say to the Americans who have chosen to side with the tyrants, to the Americans who fired researchers for demanding scientific freedom: ‘Give us back the Statue of Liberty,'” he said.
“We gave it to you as a gift, but apparently you despise it. So it will be just fine here at home,” Glucksmann continued.
The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to America in 1886. It stands 305 feet tall and weighs approximately 450,000 pounds.
It has become one of America’s most iconic symbols of freedom and opportunity, welcoming generations of legal immigrants to its shores.
Glucksmann did not stop at demanding Lady Liberty’s return. He also outlined plans to recruit American researchers who might be dismissed under the Trump administration.
“If you want to fire your best researchers…then we’re going to welcome them,” he declared.
This attack comes as no surprise from Glucksmann, who is a vocal critic of President Trump’s America First foreign policy.
The left-wing politician has consistently aligned himself with globalist interests in opposition to President Trump’s efforts to prioritize American interests.
The timing of Glucksmann’s comments is particularly telling, coming as France grapples with its own serious issues.
The country faces skyrocketing crime rates in migrant-dominated neighborhoods, failing integration policies, and growing concerns over Islamic extremism that have resulted in horrific terrorist attacks on French soil.
While lecturing America about freedom and liberty, Glucksmann overlooks his own nation’s problems.
France already possesses a smaller replica of the Statue of Liberty on the Seine River, given by America in 1889.
Critics have said Glucksmann should focus on preserving liberty in his own backyard rather than criticizing America’s commitment to freedom.
The French politician’s demands have been described as yet another example of European elites feeling threatened by President Trump’s America First agenda.
Millions of Americans recognize this demand as another attempt by globalist interests to undermine American sovereignty.
Lady Liberty stands tall where she belongs in New York Harbor, continuing to symbolize the freedom and opportunity that makes America the exceptional nation it is.
