Court to Pennsylvania: Stop!

(TheIndependentStar.com) – In a resounding victory for election integrity, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has ruled that undated mail-in ballots must be excluded from the U.S. Senate race recount.

This decisive action enforces the state’s Election Code and rebukes Democrat-led counties that had stubbornly counted these invalid ballots.

Using its King’s Bench authority, the court issued a 4-3 decision that directly impacts the tight race between Republican Dave McCormick and Democrat Bob Casey.

This ruling has been seen as a significant blow to leftist attempts to loosen voting rules and potentially swing close elections.

The court ordered all 67 county election boards to comply with previous rulings that invalid ballots should not be counted, sending a clear message that election laws must be followed.

Justice David Wecht emphasized, “It is critical to the rule of law that individual counties and municipalities and their elected and appointed officials, like any other parties, obey orders of this Court.”

The decision specifically targeted Philadelphia, Montgomery and Bucks counties, which had defied previous court rulings by counting undated and misdated ballots.

Republican National Committee chair Michael Whatley praised the decision, stating, “No more excuses. Election officials in Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia, and other counties have absolutely no choice but to reject illegal ballots. We will hold them to it.”

Led by Chairman Michael Whatley, the Republican National Committee played a key role in bringing this legal challenge.

Meanwhile, Democrat-aligned voting rights groups and their allies argued that the dating requirement is meaningless and unconstitutional.

Philadelphia City Commissioner Lisa Deeley voiced her dissatisfaction with the court’s decision, claiming concerns over voter disenfranchisement.

As the recount continues, results are expected by November 27. Regardless of the outcome, Republicans have already secured a majority in the Senate after flipping other Democrat-held seats.
