On Sunday’s episode of CNN’s “Inside Politics,” a panel criticized President Joe Biden’s lack of leadership and depressing political support as they analyzed his polling figures.

In CNN’s latest poll, the President only manages to reach a 39 percent approval rating, something a Quinnipiac poll places at 32 percent, showing that 54 percent disapprove.

The three panelists appearing on “Inside Politics” on Sunday included Time Magazine national political correspondent Molly Ball, Bloomberg White House correspondent Jordan Fabian, and CNN’s Capitol Hill reporter Melanie Zanona weighed in on Biden losing support from every political demographic.

Currently, the administration faces discontent from all sides. Republicans are upset over Biden’s lackluster economic efforts, and environmental progressives share the emotion, but over the administration’s announcement it would be reinstating oil and gas leases on federal land.

Host Abby Philip noted that “It’s an environment of overall discontent.”

Ball chimed in “People correctly perceive that he’s not in control of the situation,” as she noted that Biden’s public support began waning after the botched withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, saying that “voters overall have not had a sense of leadership from the White House.”

She added that voters “have not had a sense that there’s a President in control, who is strong and consistent and knows what’s doing and can project a consistent message from one day or the next.”

The panel then discussed multiple Democrats distancing themselves from the President.

“It is a sign that they sense that there is nothing to be gained by continuing to be allies of the President,” Ball noted.

The panel also touched on Biden losing support among young voters, with Fabian musing it was because Biden “hasn’t delivered” on his campaign pledges, namely student loan forgiveness.
