Britney Spears Broke?

(TheIndependentStar.com) – Known as Miss American Dream, Britney Spears has been in the eye of media outlets one more time early this week as reports assert her mental health, and finances are currently in conflict.

According to the reports, some stated she is “completely dysfunctional” and at risk of financial collapse, while others argued she is not facing imminent financial ruin.

TMZ reported that insiders close to the 42-year-old pop icon allege she is depleting her funds on extravagant trips to Hawaii and French Polynesia, putting her “in danger of going broke” just over two years post the termination of her 13-year conservatorship under her father, Jamie Spears.

One source underscored, “She cannot afford this. She had $60 million when the conservatorship ended, and she’s now where the conservatorship started—in danger of going broke.”

The report further suggested her mental well-being is in a “seriously dangerous” state, as she has alarming mood swings.

“She had lots of freedom in the conservatorship and the restrictions were there to protect her,” explained one source. “She’s not protected anymore.”

Contrarily, sources rebutted the claims in a Page Six report, labeling the TMZ narrative as “grossly exaggerated.”

“She has no concept of money,” disclosed one insider. “For over a decade, other people were in charge of her bank accounts, and every purchase had to be reported to the court — even if it was just a pack of gum. But now, she’s on her own.”

The source clarified, “She’s not broke, but she could benefit from being more careful with her cash.”

Another source highlighted the delicate position of those close to the superstar, wary of inadvertently reinstating the feeling of conservatorship.

“It’s tricky. No one wants to be Jamie 2.0. Between flying private and booking five-star villas, it can get costly — fast,” the source admitted.

A third source echoed, “She is not going broke but should keep an eye on private jets.”

In November 2021, a judge terminated Spears’ nearly 14-year conservatorship, previously overseen by her father, Jamie.

Post-conservatorship, Spears married Sam Asghari, but they divorced after 14 months. In 2023, she released “The Woman In Me,” a memoir that swiftly became a New York Times bestseller.
