News has just broken that California Republican Rep. Devin Nunes, who was a key Republican during former President Donald Trump’s four years in office, has just announced that he is expecting to leave Congress by the end of the year.
According to the Washington Examiner, it appears that Rep. Devin Nunes is leaving Congress to do something very important. Nunes will now work as a top executive in former President Donald Trump’s new media company sources close to the Washington Examiner have reported.
This shocking new decision comes after California redistricting map drafts would cause Devin Nunes to either run for office in district that flipped from red to blue by nine points for then Democratic nominee Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election or running in a completely different district all together. So, instead of running once again it seems like Nunes has decided to join former President Trump and will now try to make his media company take off.
This decision by Nunes is big news for the Republican Party because now they have to figure out who will replace him for the House Intelligence Committee. Nunes was fully expected to return to his seat after Republicans won the House in the 2022 midterm elections but now plans have clearly changed.
