(TheIndependentStar.com) – In a chilling murder that highlights the growing crime rates in Democrat-run cities, UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot dead in broad daylight on the streets of New York City.
However, authorities are now dealing with a new puzzling mystery as the bullets the gunman fired had unexpected details.
The tragic incident happened in Midtown Manhattan, where Thompson was preparing for an investor meeting.
A masked white male dressed in black appeared from behind a parked car and fired multiple shots at Thompson, hitting him in the back and calf. The CEO was pronounced dead shortly after.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch confirmed the attack was “clearly plotted,” stating, “Many people passed the suspect, but he appeared to wait for his intended target.”
Adding to the mystery, the assassin left behind a message. Police sources revealed that the words “deny,” “depose,” and “defend” were craved on live rounds and shell casings found at the scene.

This detail has fueled theories about the killer’s motives and potential connections to radical leftist ideologies.
Perhaps most disturbing is that the suspect seems to know how to use firearms effectively.
Law enforcement official Joseph Kenny noted, “From watching the video, it does seem that he’s proficient in the use of firearms as he was able to clear the malfunctions pretty quickly.”
After the shooting, the killer escaped on an e-bike, part of the CitiBike program operated by Lyft.
As the manhunt continues, authorities have offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
“We are deeply saddened and shocked at the passing of our dear friend and colleague Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare,” UnitedHealth Group Inc. said in response to the murder.
