Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert (Colo.) described Vice President Kamala Harris as President Joe Biden’s “shrewd insurance policy,” protecting him from impeachment.

According to Fox News Digital, the Colorado Republican insisted that the GOP’s overwhelmingly negative view of Harris has kept lawmakers within the party from pushing for Biden’s impeachment in the wake of his classified documents scandal.

Boebert condemned Biden as having “failed the American people,” adding that the President was “keeping some members [of Congress] from calling for [his] impeachment by having a historically unpopular vice president.”

But Boebert insisted that both Biden and Harris “have failed to faithfully uphold and execute the law” and should both be held accountable.

Boebert’s remarks come as the President is facing his biggest scandal since entering the Oval Office.

The scandal, stemming from the unauthorized retention of classified documents from the Obama-Biden administration discovered in three batches in two locations.

Biden’s attorneys found the first batch of classified documents six days before the midterm elections.

They were located in an office Biden held in the Penn Biden Center think tank in Washington, D.C.

The second and third batches were discovered in the President’s residents in Wilmington, Delaware. The second batch in the garage, which Biden claims was “locked.”

The discoveries led Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint a special counsel to oversee the Department of Justice’s probe into the classified documents.

On Tuesday (January 17), White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused to answer questions about whether Biden’s attorneys were continuing their searches for classified documents.
