On Friday (May 5), former Attorney General Bill Barr said former President Donald Trump will bring “chaos” and a “horror show” if l he returns to the White House in 2024.
Speaking at an event in Cleveland, Barr told attendees that if they believe in Trump’s policies and “what he’s advertises as his policies,” Trump would be “the last person” who can “execute” and “achieve” those policies.
“He does not have the discipline, ” Barr asserted.
When pressed further, Barr elaborated his claim, saying his former boss does not have the “ability for strategic thinking” or “setting priorities.”
Barr described Trump being “left to his own devices” as a “horror show.”
He added that people may “want [the former President’s] policies,” but insisted “Trump will not deliver Trump policies.”
Instead, Barr claimed the former President and current GOP Presidential primary frontrunner would “deliver chaos” that would “lead to a backlash,” setting Trump’s policies “much further back than they otherwise would be.”
Barr, who served as Attorney General in Trump’s administration and former President George H.W. Bush’s administration, was in Cleveland to discuss his recently released book, “One Damn Thing After Another: Memoirs of an Attorney General.”
Barr emerged as a frequent Trump critic since he left the administration in December 2020.
Shortly before his resignation, Barr revealed that the Department of Justice hadn’t found evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election, despite what then-President Trump was claiming.
Last month, he suggested that Trump is the Republican candidate who is “most likely to lose again” to President Joe Biden in 2024.
