Biden Losing Support With THIS Key Group

Downward trend

(TheIndependentStar.com) – Highlighting a sharp decline in Joe Biden’s approval ratings among Democrats, a recent NBC News poll revealed the left is unhappy regarding his response to the Israel-Hamas war.

This poll, conducted in mid-November among 1,000 registered voters, comes in the wake of the latest escalation of violence that began with Hamas’s deadly incursion into southern Israel on October 7.

The poll’s findings are striking: only 34% of all voters approved Biden’s approach to the conflict, marking a notable dip in support. This is even more pronounced within his own party, with just over half of Democratic voters (51%) approving of his stance. The disapproval extends beyond party lines, with nearly 60% of independents and about 70% of Republicans expressing dissatisfaction.

A key factor in this declining support appears to be the U.S. commitment to Israel, even as some Democratic voices have raised baffling concerns. Prominent progressives in Congress, such as Representatives Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Cori Bush of Missouri, have been vocal in their criticism of U.S. support for Israel. They argue for an end to U.S. funding and a push toward a cease-fire, effectively aiding Hamas in the process.

The discontent within the Democratic base was further highlighted by a protest outside the Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C., where radical demonstrators sought to engage with lawmakers about a cease-fire in Gaza but were impeded by a confrontation with Capitol Police.

According to the poll, Biden’s overall approval rating has also suffered, plunging to 40%, the lowest point of his tenure. This decline is particularly noticeable among younger voters (aged 18 to 34), 70% of whom disapprove of his handling of the war.

These findings suggest that Biden’s foreign policy decisions, particularly regarding the Israel-Hamas war, are a significant factor in his waning support within the Democratic coalition.

Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates, who contributed to the survey, notes the impact of the Israel-Hamas war on the Biden administration, deeming it a “uniquely low point.”

The poll, with a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points, underscores the complexities and challenges Biden faces in maintaining support with the radical wing of his party amidst contentious international issues.
