The Biden administration was a part of the FBI raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home despite a previous report which claimed that the administration’s officials had been “stunned” to learn about the raid through social media.

America First Legal was the group to first obtain internal government documents relating to the raid following a Freedom of Information Act request.

In a post on social media on Tuesday, Reed D. Rubinstein, America First Legal senior counselor and director of oversight and investigations wrote that the current evidence “suggests that Biden officials in the Executive Office of the President and the Department of Justice unlawfully abused their power” and hid the truth from the American people. He added that this government did not appear to acknowledge any “limits on its power to harass, intimidate, and silence its political opponents.”

The American First Legal group found through the Freedom of Information Act, that the FBI had gained access to Trump’s records through a “special access request” granted from the Biden White House. This new information confirms the Fox News report from August when NARA acting head Debra Wall had sent a letter to Trump’s attorneys alleging that the Biden administration had been involved.

According to the records, John Laster, “the Archives’ official had been involved in providing the access requests for the Presidential records, despite previous claims by the Archives that they had “not been involved in the DOJ investigation.”
