This is so strange.
In a speech on Saturday (March 2), President Joe Biden made another blunder when referencing his wife, first lady Jill Biden. This time he called Jill Biden vice president in the Obama administration, a role he held for the eight years Obama was President.
Speaking at a commission ceremony of the USS Delaware in Wilmington, Del. Saturday, Biden praised his wife for her commitment to military families and her oversight of the development of the USS Delaware, which is the Navy’s newest nuclear attack submarine.
He introduced the first lady by saying, “The daughter of a Navy signalman during World War Two, the mother of a Delaware National Guard, the grandmother of children who experienced having their father deployed away from home for a year at a time.”
Then he added that the First Lady “always holds our military and their families in her heart,” before making the blunder.
“I’m deeply proud of the work she is doing as First Lady with Joining Forces initiative she started with Michelle Obama when she was vice president and now carries on.”
However, Biden’s error was corrected, another in a string of recent corrections the White House had to make because the President misspoke.
In the official White House transcript, the sentence reads: “And I’m deeply proud of the work she is doing as First Lady with Joining Forces initiative she started with Michelle Obama when she [I] was Vice President and now carries on.”
In the last week, the White House has had to correct several errors Biden made while traveling in Europe, where the President seemingly called for regime change in Russia when he said, “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.”
The White House had to walk back those statements in under an hour because of the potentially devastating ramifications, then full damage control commenced with Secretary of State Antony Blinken releasing a statement, and Biden himself, responding to questions about the incident by referring to a cheat sheet.
Republicans have pointed to his long list of mistakes as reason he should step back from being President.
Taking to Twitter, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX.), who was the White House physician during the Trump administration, stated, “Biden isn’t running the country. He’s lost and confused. He’s TOTALLY out of the loop, and when he opens his mouth, he’s constantly ‘corrected’ by his staff. He needs to RESIGN.”
