The House Oversight Committee intends to probe the Biden administration’s alleged collusion with the U.S. Department of Justice on the matter that they colluded to Conceal the discovery of classified documents, according to reporting by Breitbart.
The Breitbart report relays how the chair of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, Rep. James Comer (R-Ky), demonstrated an eagerness among House Republicans to investigate a report from the Washington Post released on Wednesday (January 18).
In the Washington Post report, details emerge about an alleged suggestion that the Department of Justice (DOJ) had formerly agreed to obscure Biden’s classified documents discovery from public view, with that promise failing miserably once CBS broke the news on Monday (January 10).
Speaking to Breitbart, Comer described the Justice Department’s alleged willingness to keep the revelation about the discovery of classified documents at President Joe Biden’s former office in the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C., “alarming.”
Comer added that “many questions need to be answered” before declaring one certainty, “oversight is coming.”
The reluctance by the White House, National Archives, or the DOJ to offer transparency about the discovery of classified documents has led to speculation about possible collusion between the entities.
Comer, alongside fellow Republican and Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jim Jordan (Ohio), has also started digging into the timeline of events offered by the Supreme White House, pointing to irregularities.
Comer is also curious about Biden’s lawyers conducting the search while they knew the DOJ would appoint a Special Counsel.
