(TheIndependentStar.com) – The days of Starbucks’ misguided diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives are numbered as Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey filed a lawsuit against the company’s “unlawful” practices.

Bailey’s bold move exposes how the coffee giant’s so-called progressive policies are nothing more than thinly veiled racial discrimination, violating both state and federal laws.

Filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the lawsuit accuses Starbucks of using DEI commitments as a pretext for discrimination based on race, gender, and sexual orientation.

Attorney General Bailey is not mincing words about the gravity of these allegations.

“All of this is unlawful,” Bailey declared, highlighting Starbucks’ blatant disregard for civil rights laws in its pursuit of a woke agenda.

The lawsuit exposes Starbucks’ underhanded tactics, revealing that the company ties executive pay to achieving racial and gender-based hiring quotas.

This practice not only discriminates against qualified candidates but also potentially harms Missouri consumers with higher prices and longer wait times due to the company’s failure to employ the most qualified workers.

“As Attorney General, I have a responsibility to protect Missourians from a company that actively engages in systemic race and sex discrimination,” Bailey declared.

He added, “Racism has no place in Missouri. We’re filing suit to halt this blatant violation of the Missouri Human Rights Act in its tracks.”

Bailey’s lawsuit is part of a broader trend of pushing back against the left’s divisive DEI policies.

Companies like Google, Goldman Sachs, and Amazon are already adjusting or ending their DEI policies in response to growing criticism and legal challenges.

This lawsuit could be what encourages more corporations to abandon these discriminatory practices.

The case against Starbucks is particularly damning as it argues the company enforces race and sex-based hiring practices.

It also asserts Starbucks segregates employees by offering exclusive training and benefits to certain groups based on their race or gender.

President Donald Trump has been a vocal critic of DEI initiatives, describing them as “dangerous” and “immoral.”

His administration’s efforts to roll back these divisive policies have paved the way for legal challenges like the one brought by Bailey.

As this lawsuit progresses, it will serve as a crucial test case for the future of DEI policies in corporate America.

The outcome could force companies to abandon their discriminatory practices and return to hiring based on merit rather than meeting arbitrary quotas.
