With her Democrat colleagues in deep water, leftist Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is fanning the flames of conflict.
Specifically, the issue arose after AOC threatened the Trump administration while defending Democrats who assaulted Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.

The radical congresswoman issued a stark warning about “consequences” if any Democratic colleagues face arrest for their actions at a New Jersey detention facility, revealing the left’s belief that they are above the law.
The self-proclaimed democratic socialist made the inflammatory remarks after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) suggested potential arrests for three Democrat representatives who were involved in the confrontation.
“You lay a finger on someone, on Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman… or any of the representatives that were there, you lay a finger on them, we are going to have a problem,” Ocasio-Cortez declared.
Her words seemingly suggest that Democrat lawmakers should be immune from consequences for their actions against law enforcement.
“They’re using public intimidation because they know that they cannot come for us all,” Ocasio-Cortez claimed, attempting to deflect from the alleged assaults by her colleagues.
DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin made it clear that no one is above the law, stating: “We will not tolerate assault against our ICE law enforcement agents. By members of Congress or anyone else.”
This position enraged AOC, who singled out DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and border czar Tom Homan for criticism.
The confrontation occurred when Democrat Representatives Bonnie Watson Coleman, Rob Menendez, and LaMonica McIver attempted to enter the Delaney Hall detention center in Newark.
According to ICE officials, the lawmakers pushed and shoved federal agents when they were denied entry. Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested for trespassing during the same protest.
In a bizarre twist of logic, AOC claimed that DHS officials, not the lawmakers who assaulted federal agents, were the offenders.
“If anyone is breaking the law in this situation, it’s not members of Congress, it’s the Department of Homeland Security,” Ocasio-Cortez brazenly claimed, revealing her contempt for border enforcement.
This demonstrates the Democrats’ belief that they are entitled to special treatment and immunity from laws that apply to ordinary Americans.
The confrontation raises serious questions about Democrats’ respect for law enforcement and border security.
While claiming to be conducting “oversight,” these Democrat lawmakers appear to believe they can physically confront federal agents with impunity.
If ordinary citizens had engaged in similar behavior against law enforcement, they would surely face immediate arrest.
This incident is part of a larger pattern of Democrat lawmakers interfering with immigration enforcement and border security.
