Another TOP COP Raided!

(TheIndependentStar.com) – In a new indication of suspected high-level corruption in Democrat-run New York City, the NYPD is currently dealing with further complications following the departure of its former Commissioner Edward Caban last week, as the FBI has now raided the home of his interim successor.

The department’s new interim commissioner, Thomas Donlon, was subject to an FBI raid late last week, The Daily Wire reports.

“On Friday, September 20, federal authorities executed search warrants at my residences,” Donlon stated late on Saturday.

“They took materials that came into my possession approximately 20 years ago and are unrelated to my work with the New York City Police Department,” he added.

Donlon emphasized, “This is not a department matter, and the department will not be commenting.”

The New York Post has indicated that the focus of the investigation into Donlon might relate to his possession of classified materials during his tenure at the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security.

During his time at the FBI, Donlon led the National Threat Assessment Center and the FBI-NYPD Joint Terrorism Task Force.

He also served as the director of New York’s Office of Homeland Security at DHS.

Donlon assumed his current role following his selection by New York City Mayor Eric Adams after Caban abruptly left the position, shortly after federal agents seized his phone as part of a criminal probe.

This ongoing investigation largely revolves around a nightclub security business owned by Caban’s twin brother, James, and whether it was used to resolve issues for clubs and bars.

The Washington Post noted that the investigation is also looking at other police officials.

“My complete focus has always been on the NYPD – the department and people I love and have dedicated over 30 years of service to,” Caban remarked.

“However, the news around recent developments has created a distraction for our department, and I am unwilling to let my attention be on anything other than our important work, or the safety of the men and women of the NYPD,” he added.

This criminal investigation is spearheaded by the Southern District of New York, which typically handles government corruption cases, and involves the IRS.

The circle of investigations has expanded to include Mayor Adams, who is also under scrutiny over potential corruption related to interactions with the Turkish government.

Several associates of Adams, including city officials and campaign donors, have been the subject of criminal probes.
