Americans: This Is Still the Top Issue

( – The ongoing and uncontrolled illegal alien invasion through the nation’s Southern Border has been identified by Americans as the most significant issue facing the United States for three consecutive months, thus remaining voters’ top priority, according to multiple Gallup polls.

In an open-ended question, Gallup’s findings revealed that 27% of participants in April viewed immigration as the paramount challenge, maintaining a similar concern level from February and March, when 28% each month shared this view.

This percentage marked an increase from January’s 21%.

A significant portion of Republicans, 48%, singled out immigration as the foremost problem in April, while even higher percentages were recorded in the previous months: 52% in March and 57% in February.

Among independents, the perception of immigration as the principal issue reached a record high of 25% in April. Conversely, only 8% of Democrats concurred with this assessment.

The concern over the economy is rising among respondents, positioning it as the third most pressing issue, following government, which has been selected as the second most pressing issue.

These poll results are part of a broader trend in public opinion surveys indicating President Joe Biden’s declining approval ratings concerning this pivotal issue, which is increasingly prominent as the November elections approach, The Daily Wire reports.

One particular survey highlighted that a mere 20% of eligible voters believe the United States maintains control over its borders, with this sentiment echoed across various age groups.

Notably, even in states like Colorado and Massachusetts—where President Biden secured a significant victory in the 2020 elections—residents named immigration as the chief issue. Furthermore, another survey showed that a majority of Americans favor restricting asylum numbers and advocate for an increase in Border Patrol hiring.

Additional polling data indicates that slightly more than half of Americans support the mass deportation of illegal immigrants, driven by concerns related to crime, national security, and fiscal impacts.

Former President Donald Trump has committed to initiating the “largest domestic deportation operation in American history” should he be re-elected in November.

This shift in public opinion is occurring against the backdrop of an unparalleled crisis at the southern border during the Biden administration.

Official records indicate over 9.5 million nationwide encounters and an estimated 1.7 million illegal immigrant ‘gotaways’ since President Biden assumed office, compared to 445,000 total reported ‘gotaways’ during the years 2018, 2019, and 2020 under the Trump administration.
