(TheIndependentStar.com) – Border security continues to plague the country in the wake of relaxed policies adopted by the Biden administration. Fortunately, border patrol agents are doing an excellent job of keeping Americans safe.
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents carried out several successful operations from May 28 to June 1, 2021. They stopped two smuggling attempts during routine inspections of tractor-trailers at checkpoints near the border. The first was on May 28 on Highway 83, where the agents arrested 50 undocumented individuals from Mexico.

The second truck was on Interstate 35 on May 29. This stop led to over 100 arrests of immigrants from Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic.
In a separate operation in Texas, agents identified and busted six stash houses used to smuggle people across the border. During the sting, agents made arrests at the following six locations:
- La Feria: 11 arrests of individuals from Ecuador and Mexico
- Rio Grande City: 10 arrests of individuals from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador
- Alton: 9 arrests of individuals from Mexico
- Escobares: 57 arrests of individuals from Central America, Ecuador, Mexico, and Peru
- Mission: 62 arrests of individuals from unspecified locations
- La Grulla: 24 arrests of individuals from Guatemala, Mexico, El Salvador, and Honduras
Agents also seized counterfeit electronics from China with a value of over $4 million. Such operations act as a source of funding for other organized crime activities, including drug and human trafficking.
When there are organizations trafficking humans into the country, other types of crime will inevitably follow. This mounting problem demonstrates why controlling the border is essential if we want to keep the US safe.
